The last few weeks have been busy. Not in the least with preparations for a little vacation. Two years ago, we spent a week in the Dominican Republic. While some people will balk at the idea of “all-inclusive”, it’s hard to beat in terms of rest and recuperation.

So while I was there, I obviously wanted to record the ambience in the early morning. Even at 6 AM, there were already a lot of people about.
So it was a little daunting to get a decent recording. In contrast to photography, field recording takes in everything around you. Not just what is in front of the microphones. I was asked 3 times if I was taking pictures (with a Zoom H6 in my hands and no camera in sight), some people just became louder when they understood what I was doing and more.
Finally, I got some time without people too close by, and this is what I got:
In the background is the noise of the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, not from the H6.
Enjoy a moment of tranquillity.
Until next time…
