Recording in winter seems like a lost cause. At least for nature/field recording. The animals have mostly left the scene for warmer climates, leaving the area with barely a few birds to record. Good luck locating those in Canada.
All we are left with are empty woods with barely a sound, or water in all its forms.
So the only thing we have left in the cold of a Canadian Winter is the sounds of the ever-dwindling sources of running water. Water on the beach, waves on the rocks and small streams that have not frozen over yet.
