Spring!

Well, probably. I walked across some roads here in Liverpool and was harassed by some very loud animals. At first, I heard them from far away; I thought they were some weird sounding birds. Yet I could see no birds and the sound was very loud.

I decided to record that as best as I could, with a fairly busy road close by.

Once I got home, I tried to find out what these “birds” were. As it turns out, not birds at all, but tiny frogs.

The frogs are called Spring Peepers. As their name suggests, they make noise in spring and not in the rest of the year.

Here is what this sounded like (loud!) in the swamp of the main picture of this post.

Once you have heard these, you can’t forget them when you hear them again…
