Once in a while, you want to relive the summer as you remember it. With the sun, the heat, the wind the summer storms and everything else. Yet, often we forget the soundscape that came with the summer.
Apart from the screaming people at the beach or in the pool, there is much more to listen to.
Take for example this little sound of the humble cricket. Often we say “crickets…” to imply silence when an answer to a question is expected. But crickets have their own song and contribute enormously to the feeling of summer.
These humble crickets on a summer night, on the prairies of Manitoba, will always signify summer for me.
Until next time…
